I don't know why, but some reason I'd never considered beetroot chutney, so obvious!

Dug up the last 6 parsnips and the remainder of the carrots. Harvested some sprouts that were as big as golf balls! Last of the spinach, 6 leeks and a few bits of Kale. Not much left on the plot now to harvest, just a load of sprouts, a few swede, kale and some leeks. Still waiting for the purple sprouting broccoli to sprout.
-
Red, green and black Kale, last of the flower sprouts and the first of the PSB.
-
Parsnips, gave some away to my neighbours, froze 2lb of them. Harvested the last of the leeks, very poor crop they’ve been. Last of the carrots,a few were useable .

Each picture is of one 5ft row.
-
As per my diary........
A quick raid on the plot today before the threatened snow arrives.
The last Savoy cabbage (still got quite a few JK's), swede (can't believe this), giant parsnip, sprouts, leeks and unexpectedly - the first haul of purple sprouters, quite a good picking as well!
-
The last of the swede from the allotment and the last picking of winter salad mix from the greenhouse. The salad has been going for months, but binned it today as it was getting leggy and also very hot  It was mostly made up of mixed mustard greens and they were getting to the eye watering stage
-
The first spring harvest - fresh chives and parsley :)
-
A big bag of greens and ... asparagus ... whoo hoo :D
-
First harvest for me too, lemon thyme and some chives to go with dinner. THis time last year I'd already had £25 worth of crops.
-
PSB
Leeks
Parsnip
-
Greens, overwintered onions (I grow extra to use over spring as green onions), a handful of garlic chives and a green garlic - again I overdo it so I have spare to use early :)
-
Just picked a bowl full of goodies from the garden - asparagus, seakale, komatsuna and garlic chives. Looking forward to lunch now :D

3 more lovely cabbages to share with my friends tonight, all the outer leaves shared between my granddaughters & daughters chickens.
-
The last of the mangetout peas from the greenhouse and the first bowl of strawberries from the garden :)
-
Colourful mixed lettuces, plus green onions and garlic scapes from the plot. More strawberries at home.
I also got a tiny harvest of honey berries. OH bought me 3 and to say they were rooted twigs would be bigging them up  Anyway they are really putting on some growth this year, so fingers crossed for next year. As you might of guessed, they went from hand, to under the tap for a rinse, to mouth and never made it home :D
-
Asparagus and beetroot
Cheers HH

Think it may be time to harvest my garlic too.
Cheers HH
-
First tomato :D A little cherry tom from the greenhouse. I have 2 plants in builders buckets at either end of the staging and they are loaded with fruit and flowers. The bigger toms are setting green fruit, but they have a way to go yet.
I was late sowing all my tomato seed this year, but they seem to be catching up well now. The ripe one is Cherry Falls - not grown it before but its a nice tangy cherry tomato with lots of flavour, so I'm pleased with it so far :D
-
strawberry's are now doing very well, after i thought we would have a rubbish harvest, had about 6 bowls.
Also had a few tomatoes from the green house very nice.
-
Lots of fruit today. Pink currants, gooseberries, a mix of loganberries and tayberries, boysenberries, plus a courgette, 3 outdoor cucumbers and a couple of lettuce.

Salad leaves and spring onions for tea btu completely forgot to take our first braod beans to shove in the dinner, so I was forced to add some bacon. Such a shame. ::)
-

Cherry tomatoes, longor shallots and last batch of garlic.
-
Cherry tomatoes here as well, plus a couple of courgettes, a couple of cucumbers, french beans and summer cabbage.
I usually dry some herbs in the dehydrator this time of year, but it is too hot to have that on, so hung some bunches of oregano and savoury up in the shed to dry. Its dry and airy, but out of direct sunlight there so we'll see if it works ;)
-
Been a bit full on with harvests: this morning we brought home a very large bowlful of climbing french beans (purple, yellow and green) and a slightly smaller quantity of dwarf french beans (yellow Orinoco), seven cucumbers, beetroot, padron peppers, the last of the Summer radishes, calabrese, a whole raft of courgettes and a big bunch of chocolate mint
Such a relief that there is still food to gather in such challeenging conditions :D
-
Peas ' beetroot, courgettes, strawberries, French beans , raspberries and the first of the runner beans
A busy few hours tonight
-
Red duke of York first earlies, last if the overwintering onions and first beetroot of the season.

Picked my first runner beans today and they were lovely, my onions are very poor i've never had such a bad year with them, has anyone else suffered ??
-
Practically my whole crop of peas(Twas enough for 4 + a toddler for dinner)😊, last of the broad beans,& first of the French beans & inadvertently some of the ying yang beans( I’d forgotten they were there, they’re really for the beans). The first of the rocket potatoes. Another batch of lettuce, this has done brilliantly, some has gone to seed but most is still going strong
-
This was yesterday, but got courgettes, cukes, french beans and cabbage from the plot, plus the first few outdoor toms. Then picked a load of cherry toms from the greenhouse.
-
Picked some red cherry toms and some sweet success toms, they are so nice i have done all small cherry type toms this year, they seem to be a better crop than the bigger toms, and there lots of them :)
-
A tad shy of 4lbs of rocket potatoes from 2 possibly 3 roots, can never tell where I start so & the other ends & just under 2lbs of a mix of purple climbing beans & dwarf yellow & green beans. Everyday there are cucs to pick yesterday there’s was 4 beauties from the spare Chinese slangen I planted out at the plot around the leaf mold container, I spied lots more today when I was watering the greenhouse, it will be pickle time soon at this rate.
-
Last couple of Heart and Hispi cabbage including a very tiny one, borlotti beans, french beans, tomatoes, cukes and beetroot.
The beetroot are one from Real Seeds that have been bred to produce nice leaves for eating. The leaves are very tender and juicy and the beetroot are sweet and tasty, so I am pleased with these :D
-
Most things a fair bit earlier than usual here due to the weather.
Big strawberry crop started on 11th June, at least a week ahead of usual. Now finished of course.
Yesterday and today....Epicure & Red Duke of York, yellow courgettes, beetroot, turnip, carrots, french beans (about 2 weeks ahead of normal), broad beans, peas and salad leaves. Tomato crop in full swing indoor and out now - latter is very early for here.
All shallots and garlic lifted 2 weeks ago, and red onions yesterday. Need rain badly still. Nothing of any note since mid June and only one day heavy rain then.
-
Harvested my shallots and some Golden Bear onions as well yesterday. Have to say they have enjoyed this dry weather and no sign of the white onion rot that blighted last years crop.
-
Lots of broad beans and some rocket from raised bed at home.
First cucumber at home nearly ready to pick :D
Foliage died back on charlottes so will dig them up soon.
-
picked some cherry toms, a cucumber blueberries and the last of the pea's.
-
Potatoes, beetroot, carrots and French beans yesterday.
Cheers
Aled
-
Yesterday at the plot I harvested the first 2 sweetcorn cobs :D Plus cabbage, courgettes, cucumbers, borlotti beans, Czar runner beans grown for the beans rather than the pods and the first few autumn raspberries. I also got a carrier bag full of Ferline and Crimsom Crush tomatoes, although I did pick anything showing colour to finish on the windowsill, before they got ruined by the strong winds, rain, hail and heaven knows what else predicted for the weather later on and today.
At home I picked the first Kaberi aubergine and a load of greenhouse tomatoes.
-
First pick of runner beans and a few autumn raspberries.
Dug a few Kestrel spuds to see how they were doing....excellent uniform size, a couple with scab otherwise fine.
Lots more tomatoes in greenhouse and pots at home.
Gales last night blew peas onto sweetcorn but no lasting damage i think. Also blew sightscreens over at our cricket ground, hoping no lasting damage there either!
Late beetroot and turnip planted last Monday were already germinated and showing well!
-
A rather large amount of big courgettes, that blows my plan out of the water to harvest them small to save having a glut lol, more cucumbers & a variety of beans
-
lots of salad, sungold toms, tigerella toms and runner beans from home. dug up some charotte pots at the plot but the ground was so hard, it was a struggle. French beans and obviously courgettes  also some spinach. also 1 fig from my garden! yum!
-
Harvested a whole carrier bag of basil from the PT as they looked like they were just about to bolt.
-
part of todays haul, calabrese, courgettes, cucs, mixed toms, padrons and the first of the melons, also fetched home spring onions, baby corn, mixed lettuce.Loving the abundance at the mo.
-
Sweetcorn, baby corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, white beetroots, greens, mini aubergines and there were courgettes and raspberries as well :)
-
Another bunch of gladioli, harvested the not so big, big onions & cleaned up the dried off garlic to find lots was rotten😥
-
cleaned up the dried off garlic to find lots was rotten😥
Oh bad luck :( That is a bit gutting :(
My big onions are not so big either and the tops are starting to go, so it looks like that is it ::)
-
Nice little harvest from the new plot.
-

Yes it was the garlic I ‘found’ on my plot after the winter that I had no idea when I’d planted lol. It certainly wasn’t planted last autumn so must have been last spring, suddenly started to grow really well & produced good sized bulbs that I lifted awhile back before the hot weather when rain was expected as it had finished & appeared quite dry. But hey ho I’ve got some usable bulbs & cloves hopefully
-
harvested 8 sweetcorn cobs..i cant believe they are ready (and really delicious), although the nibbles from the local vermin normally tell me when its time to get them in 'quick'. some smaller cobs on each plant will hopefully benefit from this recent rain, fingers crossed. its the first time I have ever seen 2 different ripening stages on the same plant?
obviously more courgettes :D French beans, salad, runner beans and some charlottes. also sungold and tigerella tomatoes with fresh basil made for a lovely bruschetta last night. :)
-
Popped down the plot last night to pick the polytunnel pumpkin and the only melon that didn't get munched by the ants. Very tasty if a little small.
-
Beetroot, carrots, French beans today. :tongue2:
-
From the plot - 1 courgette, a bag of tomatoes, a few spuds, a cabbage and the last of the mini leeks and soy beans.
At home - more tomatoes, an aubergine, a cuke and Trinidad Perfume peppers.
-
Toms, chillies and ..... my first ever aubergine!
-
7.5 lbs of tomatoes, a beautiful full sweetcorn, some lettuce leaves all from the plot.
-
my first ever aubergine!
It does feel like quite a triumph when you actually produce one doesn't it. Well done you :D
-
my first ever aubergine!
It does feel like quite a triumph when you actually produce one doesn't it. Well done you :D
Thanks! And it was delicious too :D
-
Four enormous courgettes as not been to plot for few weeks
-
4 aubergines, that’s the most I’ve ever managed plus the 1 I got a 2nd for at the local show😀, sweetcorn, carrots,a mixture of green beans, beetroot, yet more tomatoes, a few baby leeks, raspberries.
-
We discovered that the strange looking squashes that we found growing on the rains of the new plot's compost heap were actually melons  So we came home with 5 small but well formed melons, a big bag of carrots, sweetcorn, raspberries, a couple of apples and the last pear.
-
Pumpkins today. Plants have started to die off, so all fruit removed and left to ripen/harden for storage. No really big nes this year as planted late, but a good number of medium sized ones to use over the winter.
Potatoes tomorrow!
-
Yesterday I picked what must be the last bag of tomatoes from the plants on the plot. I was expecting the worst, but the plants were fine, if a bit tired looking, and laden again. The plot pants have been sooooo productive this year (Ferline and Crimson Crush). A lot of the fruit are green, but I've laid them out on trays to ripen.
Also brought home a cabbage and some Lazy Housewife beans, plus picked a load of Trinidad Perfume peppers from the greenhouse at home, plus the last Lipstick pepper.
-
I discovered the quinces were ready to drop off the tree yesterday, so got picking quick. I have already made jelly and have quince brandy on the go, but this lot are still left and a few on the tree still ripening. Great crop this year :)
-
Almost the last of the toms, a few carrots and a small cabbage.
Plot looking a bit bare now with lots of tidying up left - I really must try and grow more things year around :)
-
A few leeks, some carrots, last of the French beans and some sloes off my blackthorn hedge to make sloe gin with :)
-
Sunday got loads of beetroot, plus carrots, parsnips and leeks for the Sunday dinner. Pleased overall, but a bit of carrot fly damage despite enviromesh, think i will apply nematodes next spring.
-
More mange tout to join that that I picked yesterday, tub full given to DIL for their teas, large harvest of parsley to give to neighbours as I picked for us yesterday.
-
Three radishes from the tunnel. Ours is a life of plenty and extravagance.
-
Last of the carrots, closing the patch off for the winter now.
Cheers
Aled
-
Yesterday, more turnips & carrots & the day before,Monday! Lol mange tout.
-
Dug up the purple carrots as I noticed the slugs were starting to become very interested in them. Definitely sweeter for having had a frost. Tougher than normal carrots when raw and harder to peel, but the flavour is pretty good.
-
Now THIS is what we call a parsnip! "Gladiator" variety - will certainly grow these again next year! Now for the Sunday roast!!!
-
I grew Gladiator last year and got a few monsters as well. Haven't dug up any from this year yet to see how they've done.
-
Mud and leaves  Well it is better than it sounds as the mud came on spuds and the leaves are all fresh homegrown veg for us to eat this week :D
The spuds are Kifli. I planted them in spring, they sulked through the drought, started growing in August when the rain arrived and eventually came good. This lot were from 4 plants and I have more to dig up.
The greens from the left - red cabbage (Kalibos), perpetual spinach and then broccolli raab.
-
I harvested a Florence fennel to give to my daughter today.
I’ve been pulling some lovely carrots & a few mange tout, there’s still flowers on them so I don’t know how they’ll fare with this cold we’re supposed to be getting. I also had a cabbage in the week & some turnips
-
Parsnips, leeks and possibly last of autumn king carrots. Tasty with Sunday dinner last night.
-
Leeks,turnips,carrots,beetroot,Florence fennel
-
Late planted carrots, (surprisingly good) perpetual spinach, tree cabbage, Sutherland kale, turnips, beetroot, cooking radish.
-
Sunday, more carrots, leeks & the first of this years parsnips & what I think is a romanesco Cauliflower .
-
Spuds, cabbage, leeks and greens :)
-
On what might best be described as a 'minging' December afternoon, small red cabbage, baby leeks, swiss chard and carrots which combined with red pepper, mushroom, ginger and home dried chilli, made a very acceptable stir fry to accompany grilled fish and rice.
-
My younger son (10) helped me harvest some parsnips, leeks and a Savoy cabbage. 😃
-
A decent pulling of carrots & a large handful of parsley
-
Christmas carrots, (pictured), parsnips & sprouts. Brought home the Christmas spuds (Valour) from the shed.
Just got the herbs to harvest and then all the veg matter on the Christmas dinner is home grown.
-
all the veg matter on the Christmas dinner is home grown.
Well done that man :D
I've got mine as well for the big day - spuds, cabbage, autumn leeks, greens, squash, salad and herby bits :)
-
Plus parsley ,2 large beetroot,2 fennel
-
Cabbage, sprouts, a couple of giant snips and some rubbish swedes!
-
Monster parsnip 3lb+😂, all no dig except I had to loosen it with the big fork
-
More carrots, 2 small swede, just caught some Romanescue broccoli before it goes over, & a few little turnips.
