ladybird larvae on potatoes
« on: June 18, 2009, 10:48 »
after a mild panic about colorado beetles, i've identified a critter that is all over my potatoes as ladybird larvae, are they a problem at all or can i just leave them to it?

Ladybird Larvae! Keep em!! They'll munch through aphids like no ones business (In fact people actually buy them!)

I'd suggest you pick it up and pop it on any plants suceptible(sp?) to greenfly attack.....roses, toms, chillies etc

Defiantely dont hurt them, if your sure theyreladybirds leave them or transfer them to something suffering with green/blackfly.

I was going to buy some but its quite expensive so i built some ladybird houses, just hoping i get some guests.
