I love these beans.  Can I grow them in a container, and if so in what soil ?   Mrs Bouquet

I wouldn't see why not. 

Edamame is an immature soy bean.  According to New Shoot in this post, Elena is a variety which is adapted for growing in the UK, but looking at the seed suppliers it appears that there may also be other varieties..
