I was moaning today that the girls lay all over the garden so OH made me a new nest box. Success, within an hour of putting it in the Hen house one of the Rocks had laid her nice brown egg in it.

Well done that man xxx

It was just an old Tea chest but it makes a good nestbox and they girls are using it so far :? He put it on legs as the rats would nest underneath it otherwise, the old one was only on bricks and they had started to nest there :x

that is good, glad to know there is another useful OH out there mine built our run and put or coop onto slabs and made sure it was raised so the rats :x couldnt start nesting, bless him

I'm jelous :? My OH is terrible at DIY and even can't hang a few pictures up!!! :shock: I could do it but he doesn't trust me to do it well!!! :x I'll just have to do it while he's at work and wait 2 weeks for him to notice that they've appeared ... that or wait for my dad to come back off holiday and get him to do it for a pack of hobnobs!!!

My husband is pretty good at DIY but I've never let him forget the time he hit me in the face ( :shock: ) with a hammer when he was fixing the fence.

It was right on the cheekbone and I was black and blue for ages afterwards

but I'm getting good milage out of it still

Mu OH is quite good and make most things its just getting him too, especialy if its for the animals he is jealous of them :?

You have to sow the seeds of an idea and wait for him to think its his ideal and act on it :roll: :o

mines been to the doctors today he has an ear infection and is slightly deaf as well so you can imagine that he is milking it big time at the mo :x
