courgette seeds?
« on: September 28, 2009, 22:04 »
I've saved some seeds from an outsized courgette. They've dried off and I've put them in an envelope. Will they be any good to use next year or is it best to start afresh? Thanks.
The less time you have, the more becomes available.

Definately worth a go.. Courgettes germinate so quickly that you'll soon know if theyve failed and can get some others going

Beware also cross polination.

They cross very easily with any nearby pumpkins, squash, marrows....... in fact just about anything that wants to spread it about.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Honestly I wouldn't bother as they are cheap as chips anyway.. plus you can try something different next year as there are so many different courgette/squashes out there. Patty Pan and Yellow Scallops MmmMmmMmmm
