Expanding foam?

I have built a largish cold frame (8x2feet) & maneged to make it solid on the inside and clad with overlap from an old shed. this gives a gap of about 1/2 an inch between the walls. I thought of insulating with expanding foam, or would i be better just leaving the gap?

I should leave the 'air gap' as moisture may gather between any foam and wood promoting wood rot. The air gap will give loads of insulation

I've found pipe lagging cut into strips dead useful for stuffing into gaps.

That 1/2" gap sounds like a slug and woodlouse des-res !
