I keep an old baking tray at the bottom of my oven where we put our egg shells (even trained the kids to put theirs in there!), then when its full and they are dry I smash them and spread them over my raised beds.   Simples!

Tea bags are great to strewn underneath acid loving plants such as Camilias and blueberry bushes.  The black birds seem to have a field day breaking them apart for some reason.  My 95 year old MIL puts banana peels under her rose bushes.  I know it keeps off some sort of pest, but I don't know what.

There is some truth in the fact that there's a high potassium content in bananas Little, and they're also good at getting tomatoes to ripen as well.

We break up the bags and chuck them all over the blueberry bed, and are amazed at how much tea really does get used up each week...;0)
