Spring in the Garden or Plot. Don't forget to put a description with your photo – where you saw it, what makes it special to you?

There's prizes – We've 3 copies of The Landscape Man: Making A Garden by Mathew Wilson to give away.

Written to accompany Channel 4’s prime-time TV series, Matthew Wilson demystifies landscape and garden design and demonstrates how the ideas and techniques behind the incredible landscape projects featured in the series can be translated to your garden at home.

Starting with the initial assessment and planning stages, and using the gardens featured in the series as case studies,

Matthew reveals the thinking that lies behind great garden design. He discusses the big issues that pre-occupy all gardeners: planning, providing for different needs, maximising space and working with nature.

He goes on to show readers how to capture their vision and transform their space, covering topics such as enhancing light levels, installing a water feature, and choosing plants for colour, texture and form.

Alluring colour photography and detailed hand-drawn plans act as inspirational visual references,

while straightforward action plans provide all the practical information needed to enable you to achieve the garden of your dreams.

Not a brilliant picture - but the tiny pea shoot in the pic was the very first thing (aside of the weeds!) to grow on my new plot, so definitely the first sign of spring for me  :)

Title: A New Start

These were flowering just as I moved from rented into my first owned house 3 weeks ago.  What a lovely bright sign of fresh life and a new season of my life as well as the year.  [Ignore the washing pole and weeds, unless they too are symbolic ...  ]
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Just realised I should have given this a title etc... Took this today - the first ladybird I have seen this year on one of my blackberry bushes. So if the insects are about, spring is most definately here! No good at titles so I will just call it 'ladybird'!!

Please can I enter this photo in the competition on behalf of Joyfull?

she had downloaded PixResizer, but hasn't got to grips with it yet!

Title is:  Look what I found on my Easter egg hunt

Description:   6 little araucana chicks hatched between Good Friday and Easter Sunday -
quite apt considering this breed is often referred to as Easter egg chickens
owing to their blue eggs

'Blue Tit nesting'

Took this yesterday, the pair were busy all day bringing grass and feathers to the box. The bird box is at the back of my plot luckily, so I won't disturb them when the eggs are laid.

Aunt Sally, would you mind if I enter the following picture please instead of the pansies?  I suppose an apt title would be "open wide"  :).
