Recommendations for yellow French (pole) beans?
« on: December 04, 2022, 18:09 »
Or, as we call them here, wax beans?  There are several "bush" or dwarf varieties, but I'm specifically looking for productive pole-climbing beans that I can use as a main-season crop.

I've seen a variety called Monte Gusto, offered by many seed companies, but at least right now, listings are often marked "out of stock".

Golden gate has been the best one for me. That is however only one of two varieties that I have grown that I can remember the names of  :) . The other is neckargold, which I grew this year but didn't do as well as golden gate.

.

Yes, both.

Kentucky Wonder is a green pole bean.

Kentucky Wonder Wax is a yellow pole bean, and one that I have also looked into (thank you AnneB).

Yellow wax beans are often Italian beans. I like them very much but they do not seem to grow so well from seed not produce huge quantities.
