Spud Question
« on: July 20, 2008, 18:05 »
I dug up some of my first earlies last week.  The plants looked a bit wilted and they didn't flower much.  The spuds were small and had brown spots on them.  Also not many to a plant. Is this blight and are they alright to eat.
Cheers

Not blight, rather sounds hungry. Did you put a lot of muck or compost etc. in for them?

Depends what brown spots, but by the sound of it just harmless blemish, scab, maybe, probably safe to eat. I guess you would not ask this if they were rotten.

Thanks, I did try them and tasted really nice.  It was virgin ground and I didn't add anything to it. So underfed?
