I bought some mixed corn a few weeks ago which was stored in a plastic carrier and then transferred to a metal tin.  I noticed yesterday that there were many dozens of creepy crawlies all over the inside of the tin but haven't a clue what they are or whether to carry on feeding the corn to the chickens.  I've tried to find a pic of something similar but they are too small to photograph and the only way I can describe them is they look like moving diatomaceous earth.   Very small and white.  Any ideas?

Google 'Flour mite' and you will get lots of info . If you eat cereal products you will also consume them so they will do the hens no harm.

That's them though so thank you for the info and I'm sure the chickens won't mind a few extra bugs.

You can get that sort of thing in all sorts of animal feeds. You could return it, as the shop/outlet will return it the mill or producer. It isn't really anyone's fault but it shouldn't be you to take the hit.
