Hi all
I am going to put guttering on my shed - which is a bit like this one

Not sure whether I should drill holes to fix the brackets on or whether this will cause leaks. Should I glue them on instead. Would that hold?

I would put a length of wood 3cm thick the full length inside silicone mastic it  on them screw or bolt the brackets on with a blob of silicone to each screw or bolt .
Using a decent thickness of timber and as much depth as the cladding allows will give you something solid for hanging tools as well.

Cut a small disc of inner tube and put that onto the screw before fitting. It  works every time

hmm thanks for replies.

Having had a closer look, one of the fixings can't be drilled as its too close to neighbours fence. I'm thinking I might try and glue them all seeing as one will have to be anyway. Do you think it will hold? there seem to be a lot of products out there which claim to be strong enough.

Nope ! 





The glue can only be as good as the finish on the cladding, a bit of moisture gets in freezes and pop !

Especially if there is 6" of snow on the roof pushing it !

OK thanks for the replies, I've had another look and I think I can drill it from inside so no glue required
