Evening all!

I took over my stepfather's allotments last year and thought I'd share my first year's experinces.....

I also have a quite lucrative back garden, which I share with my grandad so this is what I had last year....

Redcurrants from the Allotment: Made a gallon of exqisite wine and lots of jam. All recipies found on-line

Gooseberries from allotment and garden. Gallon of wine....horrid after 8 months. Jam....people fighting me off for it!

Rhubarb....Allotment and home. Wine is surprisingly nice, leave it long enough, it's pallateable. Crumbles etc to die for


Whitecurrants.......Bland.....any advice as to what to do with them


Raspberries......We have Red and golden.......neither make it past being eaten

A new addition.....Jostaberries.......When ripe.....lovely

Welcome bryan, nice to know you have a productive plot, what with the wine and jam making.

Please will you split any questions  for the individual sections eg the cooking or the homebrew or GYO.

I mix whitecurrants in with the others to add bulk, rather than flavour.
