Title: Moving Trees
Post by: Mulderrig on September 24, 2021, 09:06
I have managed to get a second plot adjacent to my own one. I am going to use it for fruit and to start it off I was planning on moving some trees that I had planted last year, 2 plum and 2 cherry, plus some gooseberry bushes from my first plot. Is there a preferred time to do this? Or a time I should avoid? Thanks.

I'd say it was the ideal time now as the soil is still "warm" and the trees will be readying for winter so their growth will be slowed down.

Move as much rootball as you can, and dig / prepare the new hole before digging up the tree to move it.
