Rosemary, thyme and lavender will all flourish all year round.

I'm guessing that your "last all year" refers to the plant's growing habit.
The successes and failures of each year keep me motivated for the following year.

Lemon balm.

You can have all mine. It's taking over.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Lavender is good for relaxing, rosemary is more uplifting and stimulating and helps focus the mind. Thyme is stimulating, good for circulation and tiredness. so you can choose for your mood

Not quite sure which 4 you mean, but lavender and rosemary grow into quite large shrubs although you can keep them to a manageable size.

Thyme is relatively compact, lemon balm grows quite large but is herbaceous so dies back in winter (it also seeds like crazy!)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

We're growing some Basil now that has smaller leaves than other types I see more commonly (I don't know the name of it) ..anyway - just passing by it gives off a fantastic aroma that beats any glade plug-in or pot pouri

Basil . . . . . . me too.
I love it; but I'm damned if I can grow it all year round.

Penne pasta, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, lots of toms, garlic and LOTS of basil.  Summer saturday tea with home grown salad and cheese. Cant beat the taste of summer  :D

I'm really impressed with this varieties aroma - I just can't wait for my long toms to ripen so I can get them together...yum.

Greek basil has a small leaf, and is very fragrant. :)
