herb germination?
« on: April 10, 2013, 18:44 »
i'm after a bit of advice about herbs.

After i let the mrs loose with some power tools she's knocked up some rather nice looking wooden boxes to grow our herbs in.

i've got seeds for 9 different herbs. tyme, rocket, chives, sage, rosemary, basil, fennel, dill and coriander. will it be better to sow the seeds in trays and find some space on the window sills or can i just sow direct in the boxes and leave in the back room ( not the warmest room in the house, but not exactly cold).

thanks in advance.

I would follow the instructions on the seed packets to ensure the best results from your seeds. Not all herbs have the same requirements, for example thyme is very hardy whereas basil is a softie
