out water board did free butts for pensioners who wanted them. I was dead jealous cos they're dead posh, stand, tap and everything  :D   I got a "second" from Wilko. The lid lock was missing or sommat unimportant (lotty wise that is) so I got it for £7  :D

I've brought one but . . . . . . It looked a LOT smaller on the internet!!!

Hubby is furious that I didn't get a smaller one but i think we'll fill it soon enough! - it's 350 litres

Do they tend to over flow or should we be ok?

I've got 2 x 210 litre ones, but they are only off the garage roof! They overflow, but I suppose it depends how much you have to water. Once the seedlings are out of the way, there's only the toms, peppers & cues to water at home.

Winter is the peak overflow time - lots of rain, little to water!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Can anyone recommend a butt that is thinner somewhat than normal. The reason is , that its got to go on a path next to the house, and would be virtually impassable if a normal sized one was there.
