im curiouse as to if painting the inside of my coop will stop the spread of the mites

in a word - no!! (but you might spot them easier) they hide in the tiniest of places and breed really quick  :(

thanks for that wont creasort work as i know it kills plants but im at a loose end with them i cant seem to shift them

creosote is illegal to use except by a few people who have licenses to do so and certainly not in the close confines of a chicken coop. Remember it is carcinogenic.

thoroughly clean out and burn the bedding. Then spray with poultry shield everywhere (make sure you even get underneath the coop) and when dry paint a slurry of diatom powder (see the redmite photo link where hillfooter gave the mixture ingredients) and repeat this every 3 or 4 days until you are sure that they are all gone. Once clear repeat monthly in case there are any in the ground surrounding the coop (they can live for many months without feeding and simply crawl back into the coop).

my run and coop and run all together is roughly 8ft x 4ft and its nearly 6ft tall with an apex roof the coop is rougly the last 2ft or so raised do you know roughly how much poultry sheild i woul need

sorry but I'm no good at working this out but you can buy it in 5 litres and you then dilute it according to the instructions. It is then sprayed on. If you have roofing felt on the coop - you need to remove this as it provides a home for red mites to hide during the day.
