Title: is it too late to plant rhubarb?
Post by: Grubbypaws on May 17, 2012, 18:18
I ordered a Rhubarb 'Fulton's Strawberry Surprise' (Spring Planting) in Early April and it still hasn't arrived.  Is it now too late to plant it; should I try and cancel the order?

Thompson and Morgan again  >:(

Never too late for rhubarb.  Lots of well rotted manure and no picking allowed in the first year to allow it to settle in.      ::)

Cheers,    Tony.

Can you get away with fresh manure round rhubarb?

I wouldn't chance it as you have paid out hard cash for the crown.  Looks like Chicken pooh pellets until you find some well rotted stuff.

Cheers,    Tony.
