Sungold, San Marzano and Alicante for me next year and fingers crossed for a little more sun.  :)

Perhaps this wasn't the year to grow lots of heritage varieties that I got in a seed swap.
For the allotment I will be trying blight resistant varieties(I have already purchased some Ferline).
In the garden Slovenian Black(one of the few that tasted nice and gave a decent yield),Sungold for the taste and Latah which was a good early producer.
I am fairly sure this will change over time.

It looks like cherry tomatoes   and polytunnels/ greenhouses are the way to go. And avoid anything with an Italian sounding name if you can't grow it  under cover. Still hope springs eternal and I guess I'll have my head turned by the packets' photos next time I'm at the garden centre and probably walk out with all sorts of glamourous but unrealistic varieties.

Same as a couple of forum members here, I normally get good results from Red Pear and Gardeners' Delight, though this year lost the lot to blight. I did have success with a new one for me which was Alisa Craig, outside plants I lost to blight but the ones in the green house were my best to date for number of ripe fruits for a cordon.

Next year I plan to put Gardeners' Delight in the green house with Alisa Craig. And also start them early.
If at first you don't succeed, try a different method.
