Title: Peas gone hard
Post by: teflon on July 15, 2009, 21:35
I've been getting plenty of good peas from about 10 plants over the last month or so.Didnt visit the plot for about a week to pick any(although it was all well watered).Picked some 2 days later&they were quite hard &starchy, not sweet&tender as the previous ones were. Also there were a few maggots.
Have they been left too long on the plant,&should i strip all the fat pods and discard them & keep an eye on the young pods (not let them get too big)?
  Cheers
Tel.

Youve answered your own question there teflon

Theyve been on the plant too long. Look for every single 'gone over' pod, but you might have stopped the plants production, as it may think its done its job and made ready seeds
