Just bubbled wrapped the greenhouse on my own !!
Tip for others you require help,not as straight forward as i thought it would be
or was it just me? :) :)

I would imagine the slightest breath of wind would make that quite an awkward job on ones own. :nowink:

My bubble wrap is inside the greenhouse. I did that on my own, but then it is only a little greenhouse 6x7 I think.

No :( didn't realise there was anything like that to use
I did a proper Heath Robinson job with ball of string and sticky tape :D
Seems to be working ok :)

A packet of those, a roll of duct tape, (avoided saying brand names like Duck Tape), for the tops and corners and it's quite an easy DIY job!

I used the alli plugs, but didn't have the little washers. Still hold up though. Been on my greenhouse for about 5 years now I think.

It's early winter here in Tasmania Australia and my new greenhouse is cold: I am thinking of using bubblewrap. Maybe on the roof as a "ceiling" and then as "curtains" as we get strong winds and I imagine it will rip if I have it outside. What are your thoughts?

Hi Annieh,i put my bubble wrap the same as your suggesting all around on the inside and what a difference it made :) :) It was really warm in greenhouse during the cold months and kept the heat in :) :)
It really made a massive difference to bringing all the seeds along :) :)but you will need to keep on top of watering does dry out more with wrap up :) :)

Our winter averages about 5 degrees overnight (Centigrade) and in the day about 11 degrees.
At present the greenhouse is only one degree warmer overnight.
Anyhow .... I just found some offcuts of greenhouse plastic film so I guess I will be using that instead of the bubble wrap but I have a niggling feeling that bubblewrap is a good idea just because of the nature of its "cells" but was concerned it might degrade over time.

I put brackets at either end of the greenhouse with wires between them. Then you can tuck the bubble wrap over the wires and it will be held in place.
If you thread the bubblewrap over the top of the ridge-wire so that it hangs down on either side, you can pull the bubble wrap into place by threading the wire and then pulling it tight.
Works in polytunnels as well. The bubble wrap isn't damaged at all and can be used many times. (Eventually though, the devil in you pops the bubbles :lol:)
