Title: Anyone got parsnips up yet?
Post by: Nobbie on April 30, 2024, 10:14
I’ve not even sown mine yet as the soil is too wet, hopefully this week. How is everyone else doing?

Sown mine a couple of weeks ago, only the radish that I sowed at the same time to mark the rows are up

I sowed mine yesterday, so hopefully the soil is warm enough now. Might chit some just to check the seed is viable.

Always sow in bog roll tubes in the greenhouse and they were planted a few weeks ago and are growing well.  Doing this I believe that it's essential to plant out before the tap root shows below, so when the first leaves appear.

Back up sowing direct now showing as well.

It will be interesting to compare the two crops.
