Hi All
One of my point of lay chickens suffered a prolapse earlier this week! The prolapse was sorted and she seemed to be ok as she laid an egg the day after with no apparent problems, however for the last two days we have had no eggs from her! Should we be worried or not... She is eating, drinking and wandering around the allotment as normal. Will she start laying again or are the chances slim?

at the moment I would say she is better off not laying and letting her body recover. How old is she? Has she only just started to lay? If so her egg laying will be a bit intermittent until she gets into the rhythm of laying.

don't worry too much then in time she will get into a routine. The possible prolapse may have been caused by her laying an exceptionally large egg or even a shell-less egg which would have needed a great deal of pushing to get out.
