I have limestone it was bought to give a few pinches to the chickens when one was laying a soft shell.
Is this the same lime you can use in the garden as we could only get a 4kg tub and have loads

There is a certain amount of confusion about the labelling of various types of lime; ground limestone is the safest in terms of not acting too quickly or risking "burning" plants and therefore is not surprisingly the slowest-acting version.
