Isn't it?

Due to lack of space...tomatoes, runners and beetroot. I think!

Sweetcorn; for me a clear winner in the home-grown v supermarket bought test.

Runner beans; easy, tasty, prolific.

Parsnips; can be a bit of a challenge at first, but a great veg to be able to dig out of the ground in the middle of winter.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Cape gooseberries, strawberries & beans. The first two 'cos I love to think of how much I'm saving when I see the price in the shops & beans 'cos I love 'em & they just keep coming

1. Tatties - coz they are easy to grow and taste so good cooked just after digging them up
2. Tomatoes - taste so much better than shop bought
3. Onions - as I use loads of these in cooking

1  - Tomatoes; a much greater variety than in the shops, infinitely better flavour and MUCH MUCH cheaper

2 - purple sprouting broccoli -  so easy to grow and so nutty and tasty. And again far too expensive in shops. A real gourmet vegetable

3 - carrots; the flavour in a home grown and freshly picked carrot arguably gives the greatest taste differential between those you can buy in shops.

Climbing beans incl runners
Courgettes
Tomatoes

....but narrowing it down to just three?  That's like trying to nominate your favourite three lines from a Shakespeare sonnet!

Blimey! what a hard choice to make. My choice would be (for now anyway)

peas - love to see them flower, then watch the pods grow and then there is the eating
Hooligan squash - because they always surprise me with how yummy they are and how mad they spread on the lottie
Raspberries - never thought I would grow them succesfully and they are so yummy and much cheaper than those in the shops
