Hello heres question 2 ive stripped her down taken of the tines and started to clean everything up ,now i need to take of the pulley there is a large nut right at the back of the pulley i guess i grip this and turn the pulley ,now is it a left hand thread or right handed and am i right that this is the way to take it of or do i need to split the gearbox casing  thanks phil

its ok ive worked it out there was a pin in the middle of the nut knocked it out and pulley pulled of  :D :D :D

jumping the gun a bit here ,but when the engine has been sprayed i will need some decals the only ones i can find are on the canadian ebay ,does anyone know anywere in this country i could get them  ie briggs and stratton 3hp decals

Can't help on the decals Phil, but out of curiosity, where were the previous owners keeping the rotovator? Under a slow acid drip? The finish is in very rough shape.

 outside under a sheet , but hopefully she will be looking healthy again soon

One of this groups members runs a decal making business, his website is http://www.machinerydecals.co.uk/  I don’t know if he has the mid 1970s B & S transfers though.

Have you got the belt guide? This doubles as the front guard mounting bracket and is a really complex piece of tinware. The clutch won’t disengage properly without it.

ive found the part you mentioned its still attached to the cover its been snapped of the engine so will have to fix it ,rest of the rotavater has been rust treated rubbed down and primed ready for its topcoat

 
   doesnt look much like a rotavator now does it

 

 stone guards whatever there called plus bracket for wheel


  and the bracket pic for r tallantire ,you can see the lugs have been snapped of

 

 I also had to weld the angle iron were the wheel assembly bolts on to the chassis this had split
