I brought some blueberry plants yesterday and planted them in a large planter with Ericwotzit compost.  Does anyone know a homemade acidic, pref. organic way to feed the plants so i get a bumper crop?

In fact they do worse if fed much.

A well known amateur gardening magazine recommends feeding with Ammonium Sulphate.

My references say not to use ammonium sulphate as its rough on the soil and leaves behind undesireable trace elements.
I use a simple sulphur powder I buy in bulk from my favourite garden centre and scratch in  a good handful around each plant 2-3X a year. Most manures are fairly acidic, chicken being the best, and I add that. Rainwater is preferred as tap water can lean to the alkaline side. So far my blueberries and rhododendrons are doing very well after 4 yrs.

Which variety did you get Wildone? Just that Brigitta is un-fertile & needs other varieties to pollenate
