Hello. I grew sweet peppers and aubergines in my kitchen and got a fair few healthy plants from each. I am now in a quandary about what to do with them.

I have a greenhouse that is missing a door and one roof panel - I plan to seal off with polycarbonate at the weekend, but the door will only be propped in the entrance as the fixtures are busted.

I also bought a low-rise flimsy growtunnel, which is in a good position and currently getting very warm and humid inside. I already planted the peppers in the growtunnel and some of the weaker-looking aubergines to see how they fared, while working out what to do with the strong ones.

Here in London we can get 30C+ days, when it will absolutely swelter in the tunnel. But we could also get some colder days and very cool nights, where the greenhouse temperature might dip quite low.

My options are to put the remaining aubergine plants in the tunnel, at risk of overheating or being too humid. Or growing them in pots in the greenhouse, where it might not be warm enough.

What do you think? The peppers don't seem to mind the humidity of the tunnel as much as the weak aubergines I've tried so far.

I grow aubergines in an unheated glass greenhouse in Reading, which is not too far away from you and they do fine in there. 

If the ones you have put in the tunnel so far don’t seem to like it, I would go with the greenhouse.
