Expecting a bumper crop of PSB.
« on: September 28, 2021, 10:49 »
Good morning everyone,  crackin' downpour of rain over the last couple of nights.
It looks like we are in for a bumper crop of PSB this year, the question is how to store PSB?

Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

Make PSB pesto and freeze. It is delicious with pasta and you can have the taste of your PSB all year round  :D

I am sure that there are many recipes if you search. This is the one that my husband uses.

We just pick the small heads and freeze them (without blanching), packed in small plastic bags, KW.

Ours have gone all over the place this year, as they're in a sheltered position and are far too tall! A couple have already bolted, but we may be lucky with a few plants in the new year if they get through the cold season...

That looks fabulous, GP!  Blimey, I hope ours gets to do some of that!

We gave a load to a daught earlier in the year, and she made this (pic), and said "Thought you might like to see your beautiful PSB in action - this is a tart with PSB, roasted salmon and red peppers with basil."

She'd finished it well before we could get over there to try it..:0(
