Tomato leaf curl
« on: July 01, 2020, 11:59 »
Some of my tomato plants in my p/t are suffering from leafcurl of the top leaves.

Ther's 4 varieties, with 3 out of 7 of one variety doing this.  Search as I need to, I cannot find the label for that variety unfortunately.  I did wonder initially if it was a form of scorching due to inadequate water so up the irrigation, but as it is limited to just one variety I'm suspecting something viral.

Thanks for any ideas?

It's usually caused by hot days and cool nights, some varieties are more prone than others - but it is pretty common.  I have 6 different varieties in my greenhouse and only 2 are doing it  ::)
It's not usually anything to worry about :)

Thanks for that - more urgency then to identify those plants and avoid that variety next year.   I've not had that problem in the 6 years of the p/t, but the early heat this year might have contributed.  Certainly being in central Scotland, cooler nights might well be a norm.
