Thanks for the help guys.
Wooden PostsI was going to get 5ft square posts that are 6 inches in diameter for the end posts and also ground spikes to secure them.
The posts are £8 each at Wickes and the spikes are £6.28 each in Toolstation.

I think I could save a bit of money on them but I would need to travel up to Ripon to get them as I don't know anywhere more local that has them. They cost around £3.25 for a similar sort of size from Mole Valley Farmers.
Shield Fencing Stakes | Timber | Mole Valley FarmersI don't have a Post Driver tool though that is the only thing. They cost upwards of £40 whether you hire or buy them. I do have a 12" hammer as well as a small mallet I use for pitching my tent and putting in the ground pegs.
Guyot Wire SystemI have seen a Plant Training Wire Kit from S3i as well as the Gripple system.
https://www.s3i.co.uk/plant-training-kits.phphttps://www.s3i.co.uk/gripple-garden-wire-trellis-kit.phpI think with the first one it does look excellent and really professional with the 3mm rope type wire but it only includes one wire so it is quite expensive. Both that system and the Gripple are just over £20 including delivery but I'd need two of the first.
I am wondering if they are both overkill though and I could save money by using fencing wire?
Would it be okay to use galvanised or PVC coated fencing wire that is 1.6 or 2mm thick? Screwfix has these for only £3 or £4 for 15m and 30m.
https://www.screwfix.com/c/outdoor-gardening/wire-fencing/cat7670001#category=cat7670001&page_size=100&sort_by=priceWould this still go into wire ropes clamps and turnbuckles or would I use something else to secure it to the posts and tension it?
I am thinking that the costs of turnbuckles, wire rope clamps, screw thread eye bolts, and the wire itself would still come out at a similar price so I may not be saving any money over just getting the Gripple system?
The only question I have about the Gripple is can the plastic tensioners be reused? I have read review comments that say the system is reusable and other comments that say the tensioners are not reusable.
The YouTube video of the Guyot system in France was very interesting they seem to be using this galvanised type of wire that looks to be around 2.5mm thick that you see in places like the lake district and in the countryside? My only concern is I always thought that type of wire was quite rigid and not easy to bend into a loop. It's a shame I am unable to see how far apart their fence posts are and how the wire is secured to them.
Cheers,
John
