gravel garden path ?

were wanting a gravel path through our lawn to the chicken house, how would we go about starting ?

I would strip the turf off (3" or 4" say), lay some builders fabric like Terram (to stop the weeds coming through), lay some Type 1 or similar aggregate on that, hire a wacker-plate to compress it, and spread some gravel on top.

Edging the path to stop the gravel spreading could be a good idea. Easiest is to use treated wood (4x1) which should last 10 years but brick edging looks better.
