Rotavator?
« on: May 31, 2013, 23:17 »
Hello,

I have roughly half an acre of land that I need to turn into an allotment, the land is quite overgrown with nettles and long grass and thistles, does any one know what type of tool/ machine is best to get rid of large sections of the grass so i can start growing veg?

If i use a rotavator will the grass just grow back?? Up until now i have been cutting out sections by spade....is there a better way?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Steph

Half an acre is roughly 50yds x 50yds so a daunting task with a spade.
What sort of time scale have you in mind and do you need to get the whole area done in one hit?
