Title: what's eating my robinia tree?

i have a robinina tree (false acasia) - that has been fine for four years, but now suddenly the leaves are starting to drop and it looks as if something is eating them.anyone have any ideas?

g,day i av 2 in my front garden yours sounds like something comeing up from ground spray with a white oil, and derris dust on ground round bush or something to kill catepillers,might also be earwigs,goodluck
