Hello I've just read an article that some people who have been shopping in morrisons are feeling in intimidated because ,,,,,,,,, theres the Union Jack flag is on boxes of eggs and other products my mother tries to only buy British eg tomatoes cheese eggs jezza

It is our national flag and is put on products so people can make a choice. I buy British whenever I can as well to support our farmers.
I do wonder sometimes about some of the stuff published as news. What reaction are people hoping for to articles like that ::)
Best ignored and recycled round a bag of chips in my opinion. Or maybe the bottom of the chicken coop might be more appropriate

That, of course, would depend on which paper the article was posted in :nowink:

One comment was...
"And another said: “Are we actually living in a world where people get offended by food packaging? W** has this world come to.”
So do they want some stuff from Morocco, trundled across Europe in a smelly old lorry, kept in the sun for ages on the M2, and plonked around somewhere awful for days?
Maybe they could go and live there - more for us from our UK farmers!
We always buy as much as we can with our National flag, I despair when I see apples from France of all places, when in Kent, we have the best orchards in the world!
During lockdown last year, a friend, who farms fruit, gave the whole village a bag of apples each from storage! They can last for ages if kept in certain conditions

Every time I shop, I always look to see if I am buying British, thats what I want. So I totally agree with you Growster.. Mrs Bouquet

So do I. It dsaddens me when I have to buy foreign tomatoes and green veg etc

As bear as possible we buy British. Husband won't have french apples in the house under any circumstances, his description of their taste is not for publication.

I am sure I read somewhere that stuff has only to be packed in the UK to get a flag on the packaging
