Hi, Here is one pic of the end of my garden, there is actually 3 ponds in that heap of bushes on the left!
Its bigger than I thought (just bought it) and am lost as to where to start
Any ideas?
I would like a space that can be used for growing veg / fruit as well as safe for my 1 year old to play.
Thanks

To make it safe you need to get rid of the pond's. I would use the lawn in front of the shed for veg. maybe a small fence say 4ft on the edge of the patio to keep the young one's in eyesight and off the veg patch. Whatever you decide enjoy it.

It would be interesting to know what the aspect of the garden is, which way does it face? I think this will be a major factor in where you should consider putting the veg patch.
The area in front of the shed looks ideal, but you will need a sunny spot.

good point! its kind of south west facing

It's definitely got potential for a bit of lawn and flowers, the 'dining' area and I would definitely convert the distant bit to veg beds.
I would get rid of at least 2 of the ponds - perhaps move one elsewhere so you have the benefits of froggies etc. I would probably put a greenhouse where the pond are now. :)
Have fun - very jealous!

As much as I love my pond, please, please get rid of your ponds until your child is older  It is just not worth the worry,he can help you build another one when he is older.

You could keep a pond within a fenced veg garden area as long as it was secure. That way part of the garden can be enjoyed by you with a safe area to play in for your little one. :)

Our pond is now the chicken run. ;) Hint Hint!

No such thing as a safe play area with a gate to a pond, it only takes one lapse.

Think I'd make the grassy area next to the shed a veg patch and remove a couple of the ponds. To make the remaining pond safe you can build a sort of bird cage all around it with wire mesh, large enough for wildlife to come and go but not so your child can get through it. Wouldn't be the prettiest sight but the bushes would soon cover it anyway. Just a suggestion, I don't have kids yet and not sure how much security would be enough for peace of mind.
