Hi guys I am not new to Allotments but I am new to the site .
I would just like to say hello to to everyone , This seems to be a great site to be a part of.
My advice to anyone getting an Allotment is the same advice I got .( HOW DO YOU EAT AN ELEPHANT)?.
ONE BITE AT A TIME. In other words take it easy and don`t try to rush things.

Hi bimbo55 and welcome to the site :D
I've split your post off from martin's thread, and created a brand new thread just for people to welcome you in person :)
If you pop your general location into your forum profile we'll know whereabouts you are - often useful information when chatting about growing stuff :)
-
Would it not help you mods if location input was manditary when someone is joining ?
ecky

Interesting suggestion ecky, but no, I wouldn't want this potentially identifying information to be a mandatory field on the profile. It's entirely up to an individual member how much they want to share about their life and I'm sure we don't mind inviting people on an ad hoc basis to complete their location field if they want :D

Welcome in. You're right! This site is a valuable asset to us gardeners!

Sorry everyone my location is Fishburn South Durham.
Hope this help's and I have added it to my profile. :)

As Yorkie says, it can really help with growing advice as someone the other end of the country, like me, will tell you all the wrong things about planting out dates and the like
Welcome aboard. We are a friendly bunch and always ready to help and chat :)
