Strawberry advice please
« on: October 12, 2008, 21:57 »
I had two small strawberry plants that were just stuck into a growbag.

We had a few nice fruit.

I have pinned down every runner and they have all rooted nicely. Now have about 18 plants but... all in the grow bag.

Should i seperate them out now and pot them into individual pots? I don't have bed for them yet.

Thanks in advance.
Liv.

As long as they have a good root system you could separate them. I tend to leave them as long as possible.  :D

Did you plant your strawberries from seed?

Mine have been in pots now for 6 weeks, and nothing seems to be happening, do they have a long germination?

If you've planted them below soil level you may struggle, they need light to help with germination, to be honest they would have been better off sown in the spring  :)

You probably can, but personally I would not.
Your problem could be with soil temperature or planting depth.
