Name that chili?
« on: October 05, 2022, 13:18 »
Good morning everyone,

We picked up a few chilies from Crisp Street Market (never been there before) in London.  We have successfully grown them but no idea as to the name/variety or Scoville level yet.

They are about 3" - 4" long, in the process of going from green to red.  Nothing unusual about the shape, no Scotch bonnet just chili shape.  Anyone out there have any ideas?  I know it's a lot to ask.  (No "BIG ASK" here you will notice or "GOING FORWARD").

Cheers,  Tony. :D
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

Wouldn't have a clue
Try one and see, names could range between 'Sweet & Savoury' and 'OMG Flaming Hot' (being polite there )

Might it help if there's a pic?

Some of our 'Scotch Bonnet' are already strung up to dry, but the 'Thai Dragon' are just on the turn, and already melting the paint on the aluminium GH...

I made a beef curry and added three chilies, seeds, skin the lot the curry isn't very hot at all.  So I addaed a smidge of an extremely hot paste I aquired from somewhere!

Cheers,  Tony.

Could be Devil's Brew.  Nice heat - not blow your socks off or it could be Cayenne.  Similar shape / size.
