My veggies are looking pretty nice now!

I am chuffed to bits, I'd never had a garden or planted anything before we moved here so it's all a steep learning curve, but I love it!

Good work! Wait till you taste them.

Are you able to grow lettuce and other cold weather crops or is it just too hot?

lettuces are good, they grow really quickly though so I only plant a few at a time so they don't bolt.
Peapods struggle a bit - maybe too hot?

Also it's actually quite hard to grow any winter stuff like brussel sprouts  ( which I love) and broccolli, again I'm not sure if it's just too hot all the time or I'm rubbish!

herbs do really well but coriander bolts in the heat so I tend to only have it in he winter through to spring in the garden and in pots under the verandah in summer.

I'd gladly send you all some sun. It's been absolutely scorching, we had to buy an air conditioner! And I love the cold and snow, apart from family and friends it's the main thing I miss.

:D I really wish the tomatoes would hurry up and go red! The cherry ones are ripeing and we've had a few but thats it. Have had millions of pampams and courgettes, onto the second sewing of broad beans, eaten all the peapods and most of the radishes and spinach.
We have potatoes coming out of our ears.
Tonight we had good old egg and chips for tea - all from the garden - it's so lovely!

Lovely Pics Kiwi. Well done you!  :) It was uplifting seeing a nice bit of sunshine on your veggies... Minus 8 here yesterday. We've had snow on the ground since Monday, and it's still not clearing. Still, it'll probably see off a few pests (we hope!)

You've all had a really cold winter - my mum was telling me ( I'm from Aberdeen and they're still there) that it's been much colder than normal and Aberdeen is pretty cold at the best of times!
