Last of the onions went in this morning.  Did a bit of weeding and also cemented my greenhouse base in.  Also breaking up the soil where the sweetcorn is going to go.  Got several pots all showing lovely green shoots coming through.

Picked up a shed load of spuds from the plot left by the old boy who had my plot last year  Tonight's tea is on him, Partly.

  :)

Watered the potatoes.  Potted on some overwintered pyrethrum plants.  A bit cold today so brought some of the plants home to pot on in the warmth of the greenhouse.

Filled in gaps in the broad bean patch, dug a bit, stared around in wild surmise at just how quick weeds take over in soil that's still too damp to rotavate but is simultaneously drying out to concrete on top.
Still, been at this stage of despair and come through before. But it MUST not rain this week. Please.

What a lovely day at the lotty  :D Whilst o/h made 2 new raised beds, i finished digging the bean trenches I started yesterday, filled them and then backfilled with earth. Planted 3 rows of chitted parsnip seeds and then cleaned our inherited greenhouse and put the new shelves up. Finally feels like the growing season is starting!

Not been today but have put about 30 chitted sweet corn into toilet roll tubes
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Planted out my sweetpeas to their final postions.

Sowed 'Spaghetti Squash' and 'Zucchino da Fiore' or courgette plants for the flowers only - love stuffed zucchini flowers

About 5 months too late, but transferred the soft fruit bushes to the fruit bed (no cage yet!).  Better late than never I suppose, it took us ages to get the bed ready.

Sowed 2 rows of parsnips and 4 rows of carrots and covered with enviromesh.

More soil sifting, removing glass etc from the top of the plot.

Had a lovely day down the lottie yesterday. Sowed some parsnips . First, I dug a small hole for each parsnip and filled with compost to prevent forking. I planted them next to the potatoes but couldn't remember how far I had planted the potatoes up! I hadn't ridged the potatoes, so I might have a cross between a potato and parsnip on a few of them  Dug my bean trench and filled it with lovely compost . Sowed a few spinach and radishes. All in all, a lovely day in the sun  :)
