Green runny poo and v. poorly
« on: March 22, 2019, 12:07 »
Chocky girl (love of my life) is very poorly.  Been reading green runny poo info on here and 2 vet visits this week. She wont take food or her antibiotic.  Really worried.  Back to vet in an hour - not sure what they can do though.
Anyone with similar story?

I hope the vet was able to help Nerdle.   Poor Chocky and poor you.  I know your hens mean the world to you.

Big hugs xx

Thank you! :)

Talk about emotional rollercoaster!!  After 36 hours of not eating finally taken some grape from me and antibiotics have gone in!

Phew!!!      She seemed happy to be left settled in her vet box for a while - wonder if that helped...

Fingers crossed Chocky feels better now you have got some antibiotics down her.

I do think a safe quiet place to be does help.  Hens are always aware of the pecking order and their status in it, no matter how well they seem to get on.  It is a society that functions because everyone obeys the rules.  A bit of time off when you feel lousy must be quite nice  :)

Best of luck with her xx

After Friday's improvement it went wrong again this weekend so final trip to the vet this morning and she is no more.  Lots of tears over this little hen - she tugged the heart strings!!!

Should have acted sooner - thought it was just a tummy upset.

Your kind words meant a lot New Shoot. xxxx

Sorry to hear that news Nerdle.   Hens are very good at masking illness, so don't blame yourself xx
