hiya all

i have some plants donated to me which turn out to have grown what i can only describe as spiky cucumbers

ive cut one open and its defo a cucumber inside

how do you guys suggest i eat these?

like a cucumber  on some of them the spikes can be rubbed off, if not then peel it.

i grew gerkins last year and they were covered in them. when picking i had to use a glove as they were so sharp. they do rub off.

We had something like that in Zimbabwe... are the spikes about 6-8mm long and like 3mm in diameter? Can you upload a pic of it?

It must be an outdoor variety as they tend to have more ridges and spikes than an indoor type.

My outdoor cucumbers have spikes but they are not particularly sharp.  I just peel and eat.  They are delicious.
