Title: Hello
Post by: Janey B on December 18, 2019, 22:56
Hello,
Im about to start my 3rd year with 2 joining allotment plots on a small allotment site in a quiet village in rural Dorset.
I have several Currant bushes, Goose berries, Raspberries, Rhubarb,Strawberries, Cranberries, Thorn less Blackberries, various hedgerow herbal medicinal plants & Blueberries all in permanently. And plenty of space for the yearly vegetables.
Its been allot of learning as I have a natural underground spring on one side in my plot and with springs in neighbouring plots on two other sides that seep in once we had lots of rain. Keeps the clay type soil fairly damp. Im pleased to say Iv got it pretty well under control with some trenches dug and a diverting the flow of water. I just love my allotments  :)  :)

Hi!

The springs sound like they would be a blessing in the hot summers!
