I have had a few amaryllis bulbs over the years and after they have flowered I have got bored with them and put them outside.
Last year I decided to keep the one I had just bought, so I watered it after it had finished flowering and kept it going until around October. Then I got bored with it and stopped watering it. It died down.
I resumed watering it a couple of weeks ago and now it has a flower bud emerging.
I did not realise it was so easy to keep them for more than a year.
So if you have a sorry looking flowerless amaryllis, that is what worked for me.

Remember to feed it as well & repot into a sleep ghtly larger pot when it gets pot bound
