New allotment HELP!!!
« on: August 14, 2011, 13:26 »
Hi all
We have just aquired an allotment. The land hasn't been used productively for many years. The last time it was cultivated was approx 5 years ago when it was planted as a wild flower meadow. We have begun to remove the weeds and turn the land over and are prepared to wait until next spring before planting any veg. Can anyone advise us as to what we should do with the land after we have turned it over. Do we manure it, cover it , spread manure on the top to rot naturally or leave it uncovered? Any advice would be welcome.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Don't worry the hard work will all be worth it  :D

Could you please add you locality into you profile, so we know whereabouts you are? This will help with answers etc, because growing conditions vary so much.  :) :)
