« on: March 19, 2009, 20:46 »
due to idiots on the other allotment ruining all our hard work i have aquired another that needs alot of work on monday this week. i have cleared a substantial area of it, now what i am wondering is if i put a load of well rotted manure down on this area and dig it in can i put my spuds in straight away?

I'm still clearing my new plot and have just ordered a load of manure. I've cleared enough to plant my spuds and will be putting manure down before I do.

Why not acquire some larger tubs and grow some produce in those rather than not get anything done this year?

Just a thought - and the spent compost from tubs can be added to soil to condition it a bit afterwards - helps on damp and soggy corners.
