What time for egg laying?

Last night when I got home I went to see the girls, collected the eggs and gave them treats and as soon as Queen Margo had had a hand full of corn and a stroke she went into the coop and layed her egg! Is this normal for a chicken to wait till the nest box has been emptied before they lay, it was about 5pm the latest they've layed so far

Ours all lay in the same nest box apart from the sussex, Sally, she always lays in the one attached to the side of the run and always digs the straw out first strange creatures

That seems like chickens all over if one does it they all want to, if ones eating out of a bowl they all want that bowl
