Title: What does oyster shell grit look like?
Post by: Casey76 on June 17, 2009, 12:57
I bought some oyster shell from a Uk supplier, and in the trip over the Channel the tub opened and i ended up with shell all over the inside of the package

Anyway, upon closer examination, the "oyster" shell looks a lot more like common cockles than what I would have thought oysters looked like... have I been duped?

some cockle shells are sold as oyster shell, I googled it and it says it's ok to feed them but did read on here somewhere that proper oyster shell is better. The cockle shells look bigger pieces to me.
